A growing engineering business delivering process solutions into the food & beverage sector is looking to appoint a Process Design Engineer to support the development of process designs and technical solutions across a range of projects.
This role sits at the front end of the project lifecycle, working closely with the sales team, customers and internal engineering teams to develop process designs, specifications and proposals.

Salary: £38,000 - £48,000

Office-Based + UK Travel (25%)
Process Design Engineer
Responsibilities:
* Develop process flow diagrams and P&IDs using AutoCAD / Autodesk software
* Generate process descriptions and technical documentation
* Create specifications for process equipment including pumps, valves and heat exchangers
* Work with customers and internal teams to define user requirements
* Support technical proposals and quotation content
* Participate in design reviews and technical discussions with customers
* Support HAZOP / HACCP and design risk assessments
* Collaborate with mechanical design, automation and project teams
* Support commissioning activities where required
Process Design Engineer
Requirements
* Background in Chemical or Process Engineering (HNC/HND/Degree level)
* Experience in process design and development of P&IDs
* Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD (Plant 3D advantageous)
* Understanding of process equipment and systems
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
* Ability to communicate effectively with customers and internal teams
* Good organisational skills and attention to detail
Additional Information
* Office-based role with 25–30% travel to customer sites
* Food & beverage experience preferred, though candidates from broader process industries will be considered
