About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Office Manager / Finance Manager to oversee the day-to-day administration and financial operations of a busy construction office based in Newcastle upon Tyne.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the office while managing financial processes including CIS and VAT payments. This role is ideal for someone with previous experience working in a construction environment who is confident handling finance, compliance, and office operations.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee the daily administration and management of the office

Manage company financial processes including invoicing, payments, and reconciliations
*
Administer Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) deductions and submissions
*
Prepare and manage VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC requirements
*
Maintain accurate financial records and assist with budgeting and reporting
*
Process subcontractor payments and maintain subcontractor records
*
Liaise with accountants, suppliers, and subcontractors
*
Manage office systems, documentation, and internal procedures
*
Support senior management with operational and financial reporting
Requirements
*
Proven experience managing an office within the construction industry
*
Strong knowledge of CIS and VAT processes
*
Experience with bookkeeping, invoicing, and financial administration
*
Excellent organisational and administrative skills
*
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
*
Experience using accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, or similar) is desirable
*
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
