Title: Plant Inspection Engineer – CAT 2 or 3

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Mon to Fri)

Location: Grangemouth

Salary: Dependent on skills, qualifications and experience

ABOUT OUR OPPORTUNITY

The UKAS accredited in-house inspection body require a CAT 2 or 3 Plant Inspection Engineer to support the current team with the development of Written Schemes of Examination and conducting in-service plant inspections across a range of process piping and pressure vessel equipment.

Key accountabilities

* Preparation and review of Written Schemes of Examination for all types of process pipework and pressure vessel equipment.
* Carry out examinations in accordance with the written scheme.
* Understand the appropriate use of all available NDT techniques including the review and acceptance of NDT results.
* Write clear and accurate technical reports in a timely manner that fully detail the results of all examination activities carried out.
* Assess as found deterioration and calculate rates of degradation to support continued endorsement.
* Identify repairs and raise appropriate recommendations for remedial action.
* Participation in risk based inspection studies.

ABOUT YOU

Required:

* You should hold a relevant mechanical or materials engineering degree, or as a minimum, aHNC in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
* Three years’ experience of conducting in-service statutory examinations on process pipework, pressure vessels and/or storage tanks within a high hazard petrochemical manufacturing site.
* Working knowledge of PSSR, other relevant legislation, national and international design codes and standards.
* Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent eye for detail and an ability to follow procedures accurately.
* Proficient in the use of Credo and Maximo.
* Inspection relevant certifications such as API 570/510/653 or ASME Plant Inspector Level 1 or 2.

Formal Interview

Successful applicants will then be invited to interview which will consist of behavioural and technical questions. For some roles the recruitment process may also include technical testing, behaviour questionnaires and/ or a delivering a presentation.

If you are selected as the preferred candidate you will receive a provisional offer which will be subject to a medical assessment and reference checks. Some roles may also require a criminality check.
