Salary: £27,123.00 - £28,956.00 Per Annum

We are looking for an excellent team player to join us as Retail Manager at The Lodge, Sandy. This shop is one of our leading retail outlets, based at the UK HQ of RSPB, set in the reserve and gardens, by the cafe and play area, with 60k visitors p.a. Offering a wide range of high quality bird food, telescopes and binoculars, and a large gift range, the shop stocks something for everyone.
You need to be enthusiastic and highly self-motivated, with a strong retail and customer service background to manage the shop and retail team to maximise the potential of the shop and drive income to support the charitable work of the RSPB.
What's the role about?
The focus of the role is to achieve key targets, lead staff and volunteers in delivering great customer service, and ensure customers have the best experience possible. You will help complete trading reports, conduct stock takes, maintain displays, process deliveries, operate tills and carry out banking responsibilities, and respond to visitor enquiries in a friendly professional manner.
Essentials:
1. Relevant industry recognised qualification, or relevant experience
2. Financial acumen with an understanding of financial data and management of budgets
3. A sound working knowledge of MS applications, including Excel and Word
4. Knowledge of stock management, merchandising principles and a sound understanding of systems and procedures necessary to run a commercial retail operation
5. Results focused with the ability to lead effective, high performing teams
6. Strong resource planning with effective allocation of teams and product
7. The ability to plan and prioritise tasks
8. Effective in responding to customer and colleagues needs and feedback, delivering an exemplar customer service experience
9. Solutions focused with the ability to effectively resolve problems
10. Proven track record of managing a successful retail store
11. Experience of managing and delivering targets and KPI’s for a retail business
Desirable:
1. Experience of working within a charity
