* Hybrid role - 4 days site based and 1 day pw from home
* Role will require regular travel between Maidstone, Ashford and Canterbury
* Salary plus company car or travel allowance provided

Here at ISS, as one of the UK's leading Facilities Management (FM) providers, we are looking to develop our operational resource dedicated to a major Government client within Kent, by recruiting a driven Assistant Facilities Manager to take ownership of day-to-day FM services (Cleaning, Engineering, Security, etc.) within 3 government sites - Ashford, Maidstone, and Canterbury.
These are government office facilities but also include Research Laboratories and specialist storage areas, representing a clear Facilities challenge to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
You will line manage 3 Facilities Assistants based on different sites, ensuring they are supported and completing their daily tasks correctly.
This role will also put you in close proximity to the end client, making it imperative to forge effective working relationships, ensuring customer satisfaction and managing the relationship daily.
As Assistant FM, you will ensure your team delivers day-to-day services while reporting to the Regional FM, who focuses on strategic management.

Key actions include:
* Maintaining a healthy, safe, and secure environment and ensuring compliance with all Health & Safety legislation.
* Rostering Engineering, Cleaning, and Facility Placemakers to meet contractual requirements and cover sickness or planned absences.
* Ensuring all documents such as Audits, COSHH, H&S, and SOPs are completed, kept up to date, and reviewed regularly.
* Recruiting, training, and developing frontline Placemakers.
* Delivering services in a commercially responsible manner.
* Recording and managing customer queries and complaints through the appropriate procedures.
* Completing periodic reports, paperwork, and administration on time.
* Controlling costs within agreed plans, including expenditure on materials, consumables, pay, and agency labor.
* Maximizing additional revenue opportunities such as extra cover, ad hoc work, and margin improvements through price reviews and additional services.
* Supervising staff effectively, including conducting 1-2-1s and managing team performance.
We need from you:
* Some experience in FM, whether as a Coordinator, Administrator, or Supervisor.
* Line management experience would be advantageous.
* Basic understanding of Technical/Hard FM is preferred.
