Overview
KPI Recruiting are looking for production operatives to work for one of our clients based near Edinburgh airport. These positions are temp to perm opportunities after your 12 week probation is complete.
This is a 4 on 4 off shift pattern with 1 week being dayshift and 1 week being nightshift, so must be able to work alternative shifts each week.
Hours of work are 07:00–19:00 and 19:00–07:00. These are 4 x 12 hour shifts. Pay is £13.50 per hour.
Responsibilities
* Carry out the production of compound animal feed in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures to maximise throughput, feed quality, and KPI delivery. Operate heavy duty machinery, ensuring compliance with quality control and Health and Safety procedures at all times.
* Ensure that feed is produced and handled in a way that adheres to food safety standards and requirements, maintaining good practice to minimise food safety risk to birds and end consumers.
* Conduct daily stock takes and complete statutory records and production sheets; proactively seek solutions when abnormalities occur to prevent negative impacts on production and quality standards.
* Collaborate with the Engineering department to address breakdowns or interruptions to production to minimise downtime. Perform basic routine maintenance and assist the engineering team where possible.
* Maintain a safe and clean environment. Enable KPI hygiene targets to prevent negative impacts on quality standards.
* Assist in maintaining audit standards and ensure corrective actions are in place to address non-conformances.
* Liaise with other operational areas to ensure the efficient flow of information so internal and external customer requirements are met.
* Drive continuous improvement by reviewing current methods and identifying opportunities to improve site efficiency, safety, quality and performance.
* Manage and maintain all site waste to the correct environmental agency standards.
* Undertake any reasonable task related to the operation of the mill as required by the mill management team.
* Adhere to all health and safety processes.
