We are seeking a Senior Building Services Design Engineer to join our UK buildings team in Birmingham with opportunities to work across UK offices. You’ll lead the engineering delivery of complex projects, guide junior engineers, and ensure that every solution meets the highest standards of quality, cost-efficiency, and sustainability. Whether you’re overseeing multi-disciplinary design work or managing smaller projects independently, your leadership will help shape the built environment for generations to come.
Responsibilities
* Lead engineering delivery of complex electrical building services projects; guide junior engineers; ensure quality, cost-effectiveness and sustainability.
* Oversee multi-disciplinary design work or manage smaller projects independently.
* Mentor team members, support diversity and inclusion, and contribute to recruitment, budgeting and policy shaping.
* Represent Jacobs in client meetings, strengthen relationships, and help secure future work.
* Contribute to strategic initiatives and the overall growth of our buildings practice.
Qualifications
* Strong project design experience in mechanical building services
* Degree or equivalent in Building Services Mechanical Engineering
* Skilled in Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Dialux, Amtech, and compliance assessments
* Chartered or working towards MCIBSE / MIET CEng accreditation
* Solid understanding of UK building regulations
* Experience integrating sustainable technologies
* Proven leadership and team management abilities
