Health & Safety Manager
Position at Blatchford, a global manufacturer of advanced prosthetic technology and orthopaedic devices, located in Basingstoke with additional sites across the Southern region.
Responsibilities
* Lead Health & Safety activities across the Southern region, ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures and relevant legislation.
* Plan, organise and deliver appropriate Health & Safety training and awareness programmes.
* Manage Occupational Health surveillance arrangements, including coordination, record‑keeping and follow‑up actions.
* Maintain Group H&S systems, folders, technical libraries and compliance documentation.
* Develop, implement and manage facilities strategies, infrastructure plans and lifecycle asset plans.
* Line manage Facilities Technicians based in Basingstoke.
* Support facilities and HSE colleagues across other sites in Sheffield, USA, Germany, Norway and joint ventures.
* Manage and coordinate statutory and service contracts.
* Lead and manage building, grounds maintenance and facilities compliance activities.
* Manage construction, refurbishment, equipment relocation, renovation and new‑build projects.
* Supervise contractors and suppliers, ensuring RAMS are reviewed, permits issued, performance monitored and standards maintained.
* Support budget setting and financial planning for HSE and facilities cost centres.
* Drive cost savings while maintaining service quality and legal compliance.

Qualifications
* NEBOSH qualification.
* Demonstrated successful delivery of health and safety management across a diverse multi‑site organisation.
* Experience within a manufacturing/production environment.
* Experience of effective budget management.
* Strong analytical skills.
* Highly organised and structured.
* Innovative and strategic thinker.
* Strong communicator with a ‘can‑do’ attitude and a positive, flexible approach.
* Full driving licence and willingness to travel in the UK, Europe and the USA, occasionally at short notice.
