Job Title : Classroom Aide - Extended Care (After School Hours)
Job Summary :
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Classroom Aide to support our extended care program after school hours. The ideal candidate will assist in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children, actively supervising and interacting with their activities and social interactions.
Key Responsibilities :
* Supervise and engage with children during after-school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being.
* Interact and actively supervise children in their activities, providing guidance and support as needed.
* Plan and implement age-appropriate recreational and educational activities.
* Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages social interaction and teamwork.
* Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and staff regarding student progress and concerns.
* Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment.
Skills and Qualifications :
* High school student (Junior or Senior) or High School diploma or GED.
* State-mandated 45-hour coursework completion or ability to complete within established timeframes.
* Experience in childcare or educational settings preferred.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and staff.
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with children.
* Basic knowledge of child development and educational practices.
* First Aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.

* Work collaboratively and cooperatively with staff, parents, and community members.
Physical / Mental Demands :
* Lifts and/or moves up to 50 lbs.
* Kneels, stoops, bends, reaches, and sits on the floor to attend to children’s needs.
* Sitting for keyboard and desk work; standing; driving for home and site visits.
* Moves quickly in response to active children needing redirection to ensure safety.
* Uses manual dexterity, reaches with hands and arms, stretches, and talks or hears.
* Responds physically and mentally to emergency or crisis situations.
Environmental Conditions :
* Variability in temperature, environment, and noise.
* Potential sensory responses related to toileting and children who are ill.
* Contact with children who are ill or contagious.
* Contact with cleaning chemicals used for sanitizing equipment and facilities.
