The post primarily involves work at Churchill Hospital but may require presence at other Trust locations, including satellite outpatient and inpatient services, and participation in organ retrieval from donor hospitals. The role includes establishing Normothermic Regional Perfusion and NHS Blood and Transplant organ assessment and reconditioning units, which may involve off-site work.
The post may also support services at the University Hospitals of Coventry and Warwick as part of the Coventry-Oxford Transplant Network (COxNet), including on-call duties. Elective surgeries are day cases. The role involves equitable out-of-hours commitments, including weekends (1:9 schedule) for organ implantation and retrieval.
