KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES
•Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy aligned with business objectives
•Lead the development of advanced analytics and data science initiatives to drive business growth
•Ensure the effective use of data to identify new business opportunities and enhance operational efficiency
•Establish and oversee data governance policies and procedures to ensure data integrity, security and privacy
•Implement data quality standards and ensure continuous monitoring and improvement of data quality
•Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations
•Provide leadership, mentorship and line management to the Data Scientist, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment
•Collaborate with other departments to ensure that data initiatives align with broader business strategies
•Serve as a key advisor to the executive team on data related matters
•Promote a data driven culture within the company, enabling employees at all levels to leverage data in their decision making process
•Oversee the development and maintenance of the company’s data infrastructure and architecture
•Evaluate and implement data tools, platforms and technologies that support data analytics and business intelligence efforts
•Ensure scalability, performance and security of the data architecture to meet current and future needs
•Lead the design and deployment of predictive models, machine learning algorithms and other advanced analytics techniques
•Oversee the generation of actional insights from data to support business strategy and operations
•Ensure that data analysis methodologies are robust, scalable and deliver value
•Identify opportunities for cost-saving and process improvement within the data function
•Manage the data departments budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to maximise return on investment
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
•Proven experience in a senior data leadership role, preferably as a Head of Data, Chief Data Officer or similar
•Extensive experience in managing and leading data science, analytics and engineering teams
•Demonstrated success in developing and implementing data strategies that drive business outcomes
•Strong background in data governance, data quality management and data protection regulations
•Experience in working with advanced analytics, machine learning and big data technologies
•In depth understanding of data architecture, data management and data warehousing concepts
•Knowledge of relevant data protection laws and regulations
•Proficient in statistical analysis, machine learning and data visualisation techniques
•Familiarity with modern data tools and platforms, such as SQL, Python and cloud based data services (e.g AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
