We are recruiting an experienced Quality Engineer to join a leading precision manufacturing company in Abingdon. If you have a passion for quality, attention to detail, and experience working with complex engineering drawings, we would like to hear from you.
You'll be part of a collaborative, forward-thinking team producing high-precision, low-volume components for industries including aerospace, energy, medical, and advanced technology.
The Role
Maintain and improve quality standards across all manufacturing operations
Lead audits, non-conformance investigations, and root-cause analysis (8D/5Why)
Liaise with customers and suppliers on quality-related matters
Support inspection teams and train operators in quality systems and techniques
Oversee calibration systems for measuring and test equipment
Drive continuous improvement and ensure QMS documentation is up to date
About You
Minimum 5 years' experience as a Quality Engineer or similar role
Strong mechanical engineering background (Apprenticeship preferred)
Confident interpreting complex engineering drawings
Experience with non-conformance management, calibration, and audits
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Desirable
CMM programming experience (PC-DMIS Level 2 or higher)
Familiarity with Hexagon S Chrome CMMs
ISO 9000 Auditor qualification
