About the role
CDS Defence & Security (CDS DS) is seeking an experienced Head of Strategic Growth Land Domain to join our leadership team and shape the future of our client engagement and growth strategy.
As a member of the CDS DS Operating Board, you’ll lead on securing and developing strategic client relationships across the Land Domain, building a robust pipeline, and converting high-value opportunities to drive sustainable growth.
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven professional who embodies our mission, vision, and values while excelling in a sales role within consultancy or professional services. This individual possesses a well-established network of customers and key industry influencers within the Defence sector, leveraging their relationships to drive growth and expand market reach.
Responsibilities
You will become the primary focal point for the following:
* Planning, Winning and Management
Develop and execute a clear and comprehensive strategic client engagement plan across the Land Domain
Creating Opportunity and Conversion of a bespoke strategic pipeline
Win annual and long-term opportunities in line with the Marketing and Sales business plan for growth.
Develop, maintain and execute a sales forecast and pipeline of strategic opportunities.
Provide market intelligence, strategic options and sales forecasts to support routine and annual business planning.
Drive the population and updating of sales data to ensure reliable sales forecasting and maintain the business MIS platform (HubSpot).
* Marketing and Sales Management
Working with the Head of Marketing and other stakeholders, develop a sector-leading value proposition, focusing on deliverable opportunities within addressable and serviceable markets.
In collaboration with the Head of Bidding and relevant Business Unit Heads, support all Bid/No-Bid decisions.
Stimulate and review new market opportunities and identify market trends.
Seek and build new client relationships to ensure the Company has a diverse and resilient strategic client base
* Management of Outputs
Work with MD and SLT to develop Annual and Quarterly Strategic Action Plans
Support bid writing activity with the Head of Bids, Heads of Business Units and Technical Leads.
Provide support to Business Unit project managers when client service issues cannot be easily resolved.
* Evaluation and Feedback
Participate in marketing and sales ‘learning from experience’ processes.
Work with the Head of Marketing to ensure that client feedback is collected.
