Overview
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Technician to join our Maintenance team in our Wastewater Division to be based out of our Earlswood - Redhill Site.
As a successful candidate, you will use your electrical knowledge as well as your experience to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify or repair mechanical plant and associated electrical equipment in a safe, efficient, timely and effective manner with minimum supervision, enabling us to ensure that all of our sites remain operational for the benefit of our customers.
This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference to Thames Water's environmental impact, and you will be actively helping to reduce pollution from our sites.
Responsibilities
* Investigate plant failures and carry out repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible to avoid interruptions to the process.
* Investigate and diagnose complex faults and carry out repairs during incidents.
* Provide technical advice, refer to up-to-date technical knowledge, and provide training or support for technical trainees.
* Work on equipment including motors, gearboxes, screw/chain conveyors & centrifuges, various pumps and associated control gear, 3-phase motors, starters and controls, electronic control systems such as VSD, automatic valves, flow, level and pressure measurement, programmable logic controllers, variable speed drives and controls, chemical handling and dosing equipment.
Base Location - Earlswood - Redhill - RH1 5HE.
Working Pattern
38 hours per week, Monday-Friday 07:30 am - 3:36 pm, plus inclusion on a standby rota for which you will receive additional payment.

Qualifications
* Time-served apprentice with significant experience in mechanical/electrical systems or with NVQ or C&G level 3 in electrical engineering.

* 18th Edition.
* Problem solver, able to identify potential issues and implement solutions, or escalate if required.
* Excellent communicator, providing technical expertise to internal and external staff and contractors.
* Resilient, adapting to the pressures of work and a changing environment.
* Ability to work with minimum supervision, on own initiative to design and standards.
* Knowledge and awareness of Health and Safety issues relevant to the industry.
* Team player who can work in many different teams, showing respect for others, providing helpful feedback and supporting the development of others.
* Full UK Driving License.
