Business Development Associate – Life Sciences

Location: United Kingdom (Remote)

Job Description

Life Science Networks is a dynamic, next-generation event and media business operating in the pharmaceutical industry.

Our mission is to connect professionals, driving growth and innovation through impactful live events and the PharmaSource digital platform.

We create communities that unite senior leaders across external manufacturing and development, connecting them with partners and innovation. Through our events and digital media, we help industry professionals share insights, solve challenges, and build lasting relationships that drive progress.

The Role

This is an ideal first role for a recent graduate with a life sciences background, based in the UK and eager to develop commercial skills in the pharmaceutical industry.

As a Business Development Associate, you'll help grow our advertising and sponsorship partnerships, working directly with pharmaceutical and biotech companies to connect them with our professional community. You'll be customer-facing from day 1 — meeting partners online and in person at our events in Rotterdam and Boston—while learning the ins and outs of B2B partnerships in life sciences.

This role combines relationship building, commercial awareness, and genuine enthusiasm for connecting the right partners with the right opportunities. You'll support the development of sponsorship proposals, manage partner communications, and be on the ground at our conferences ensuring partners have exceptional experiences.

Key Responsibilities

* Partner Engagement: Build relationships with potential advertising and sponsorship partners, understanding their goals and helping them see the value in our platform and events.
* Outreach & Communication: Use email, LinkedIn, and CRM tools (HubSpot) to conduct high-quality, personalised outreach to potential partners, maintaining an organised pipeline of opportunities.
* Event Support: Attend our CDMO Live conferences in Europe and the Americas, meeting partners face-to-face and supporting their on-site experience.
* Proposal Development: Work with the team to develop tailored sponsorship packages and partnership proposals.
* Market Research: Identify potential partners by researching the pharmaceutical manufacturing ecosystem—from CDMOs to technology providers to service companies.

About You

* You're a recent graduate (or soon-to-be graduate) with a degree in life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related field.
* You have excellent communication skills and aren't intimidated by speaking with senior professionals—you're confident, professional, and personable and you’re excited about a career in sales and business development
* You have a growth mindset: you see challenges as learning opportunities and aren't afraid to try new approaches.
* You're enthusiastic, proactive, and take initiative—you don't wait to be told what to do.
* You're comfortable working remotely but thrive on in-person connection (travel to events 2-3 times per year).

Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceutical sciences, or related field (or graduating soon).
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Based in the UK with full right to work.
* Willingness to travel internationally for conferences (primarily Europe and US East Coast).
* Previous sales experience is an advantage but is not a necessity —we value attitude, curiosity and work ethic over experience.

What We Offer

This isn't a traditional graduate scheme. You'll have real responsibility from day one, working directly with founders—no management layers.

You'll travel to pharmaceutical conferences in Rotterdam and Boston, meeting industry leaders and building a network that typically takes years to access. You'll learn to use technology—email automation, CRM, LinkedIn—to craft high-quality, personalised communications at scale.

Fully remote and flexible, with a competitive salary and performance-based incentives as you develop. As we grow, you grow with us. We value a growth mindset over perfection, and hire for curiosity and attitude rather than experience.
