An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Social Worker position within the Children with Disabilities Team. This is an opportunity to join a service that is reshaping our approach to the delivery of support for children with disabilities and their families.

Achieving this by working with children, young people and their families to determine identified social care needs, offering a holistic network of support, which will achieve positive outcomes and ensure children and young people reach their potential.

The Children with Disabilities Service supports children and young people from 0 to 17 years old with complex health, medical and learning difficulties and disabilities, and their families. The service consists of a range of professionals, including:

* Social Workers
* Social Work Assistants
* Senior Social Workers and Senior Social Work Assistants
* Short‑Break Coordinator
* Direct Payment Officer
* Occupational Therapy Team

The Children with Disabilities Team work with all children and young people where their disability impacts on their ability to have opportunities to be safe, develop skills for life and be part of their local community.

The Social Workers within the team adhere to the same statutory requirements, as other Local Authority Social Work teams. This includes Children in Need, Children Cared for by the Local Authority and Child Protection. The post holder will have a varied range of children and young people to work alongside, which makes this an interesting, dynamic and rewarding role.

Additionally we are committed to achieving high standards and the very best outcomes for children and young people through proactive and child‑focused support planning. Above all we value and listen to the views of children and young people and shape our services around their needs.
