Key responsibilities as a Commercial Manager
* Lead and manage a small commercial team, providing direction, coaching, and strategic focus.
* Work closely with the Commercial Director to shape and execute long-term commercial plans.
* Build influential, senior-level relationships with customers through regular engagement and strategic dialogue.
* Develop a deep understanding of customer operations to anticipate needs and identify opportunities for growth.
* Drive commercial performance, capability, and continuous improvement across the team.
* Provide commercial insight to senior leadership, supporting business planning and decision‐making.
* Oversee the creation of high‑quality proposals, reports, and presentations.
* Ensure commercial governance, accuracy, and consistency across quotations and pricing activity.
* Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
* Lead key account management activity, ensuring exceptional service and commercial outcomes.
What We’re Looking for ina Commercial Manager
* Senior commercial background — ideally Head of Sales, Sales Manager, or equivalent leadership role.
* Experience working with retailers, FM companies, or Blue Chip customers.
* A strategic thinker who balances long‑term planning with hands‑on customer engagement.
* Proven ability to drive commercial growth and influence senior stakeholders.
* Strong relationship‑builder with credibility at senior customer levels.
* Knowledge of engineering, manufacturing, or technical equipment environments.
* Highly organised, resilient, and detail‑focused.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Proficient in MS Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
* Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Experience
* Exposure to loading bay scissor lifts or automatic doors.
* Experience in bakery, catering, or coffee equipment sales.
* Background in managing complex equipment programmes across multi‑site estates.
