Overview
A respected regional law firm is seeking a highly experienced Locum Private Client Solicitor to support its Private Client team during a period of increased demand. This is a flexible locum position for an initial term of 3 to 6 months, with the possibility of extension.
The successful candidate will handle a varied caseload of wills, probate, estate administration, and tax planning matters. This role is ideal for a solicitor who can hit the ground running and work with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Drafting wills, trusts, and lasting powers of attorney
Advising clients on inheritance tax and estate planning
Managing estate administration, including intestacies
Liaising with high-net-worth clients and third-party advisors
Ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards
Supporting the team during periods of high caseload
Candidate Profile
Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with 7+ years PQE in Private Client law
Proven experience in wills, probate, trusts, and tax planning
Ability to manage a full caseload independently
Strong communication and client care skills
STEP qualification (or equivalent experience) preferred
Availability to start at short notice
