The post holder will have the opportunity to work alongside the Clinical Psychologist within the service. The post holder will contribute to the overall psychology provision within the prisons. Clinical duties will include:
* Facilitating psychologically informed therapeutic groups
* Conducting individual psychology assessments, including neuropsychology assessments
* Supporting the management of service users by working with staff teams
The role involves working independently according to a plan agreed with a qualified psychologist and within the framework of the team's policies and procedures. Additional responsibilities include:
* Assisting with clinically related administration
* Conducting audits and collecting statistics
* Developing audit and research projects
* Engaging in teaching and project work
Regular clinical supervision with the Psychologist will be provided, along with access to wider Trust CPD opportunities, including a monthly Assistant Psychologist CPD group.
Key responsibilities include:
* Contributing to maintaining high professional standards through active participation in CPD training and development
* Maintaining high standards of clinical record keeping and report writing in accordance with the British Psychological Society and Trust policies
* Preparing test materials and visual aids as required
* Undertaking administrative duties as needed
* Performing other duties appropriate to the grade as required by the line manager
