The Team
The Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) comprises of subject matter experts specialising in housing, domestic abuse, education, drug and alcohol support, youth work and mental health for adults and children.
MDT workers bring specialist knowledge and therapeutic insight. Their expertise is instrumental in re-engaging families, restoring hope, and fostering sustainable change. This team's work is not only impactful - it's transformative.

The MDT team is situated within frontline social work teams where the referrals come from. The interventions from MDT are delivered within the community or in the families' homes.

The Role
Domestic Abuse Support Worker will focus on providing a proactive, short to medium term crisis intervention service through individual safety planning and personal support.
To work alongside Assessment & Intervention and Family Support & Protection Teams providing support to victims of Domestic Abuse. To undertake work with the victim to effect change and deliver a service to those at high risk by assisting them to access services to support and keep them and their children safe.
To work within a multi-agency team which may include attendance at MARAC where appropriate, and link victims to community-based services in a timely way through building good relationships with partners and the voluntary sector.

Accountabilities
* Work within a multi-agency setting to address the safety of victims and ensure that their safety plans are co-ordinated, work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support the victim and remain an integral part of the team to formulate an assessment and be able to contribute to the multi-disciplinary team assessment.
* Understand the multi-agency partnership structures and work within these settings.
* Establish ongoing multi-agency connections and relationships for the benefit of the victim and their family.
* Support the empowerment of the client and assist them in recognising the features and dynamics of domestic abuse present in their situation and help them regain control of their lives.
* Providing advocacy, emotional and practical support and information to victims including legal options, housing, health and finance.
* Maintain timely, accurate and confidential case management records and contribute to the work of the team.
* Participate in regular case management reviews within the Multi-Disciplinary Team and your line manager based on a review of risk and abuse which feeds back into action planning to further progress, signpost, or close cases, and provides feedback to your clients/agencies and informs future case management.
* Contribute to data and written reports with effective case data input and through the provision of case studies to illustrate the impact of the service for domestic abuse victims.
* Engage in supervision both individually and through group supervisions
* Specific individual and shared targets and objectives are defined annually within the performance management framework.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
* The successful candidate will desirably hold an accredited degree or diploma-level professional qualification, complemented by significant experience working with individuals affected by domestic abuse.
* We require strong practical expertise ensure the ability to deliver high-quality, evidence-based interventions that promote safety and positive outcomes.
* They will have a comprehensive understanding of the impact of domestic abuse on victims, and their children is essential.
* The role requires in-depth knowledge of risk assessment, safety planning, and risk management to safeguard victims and their families effectively. This includes the ability to identify safeguarding concerns promptly and report them in line with local policies and procedures.
* The successful candidate will have significant experience in working with risk and providing clear, practical advice to victims and their families to help them move forward.
* A proven ability to maintain personal and professional boundaries is critical.
* Always ensuring ethical and safe practice.
* Flexibility and strong teamwork skills are also key, enabling effective collaboration within a multidisciplinary environment to achieve shared goals.
* This will involve working collaboratively with multi-agency partners to manage risk effectively, safely share intelligence, and implement coordinated interventions.
The role requires you to be mobile throughout a wider operational area including travelling around the county of Essex and beyond, transporting service users and their belongings and to be able to do so in an emergency. Driving licence and car or the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means is essential.

If successful, the anticipated start date for this role will be from April 2026.
