* We are currently seeking qualified candidates to fill a Traffic Engineer position in our Richmond, VA office.
* Work as part of a team in all facets of traffic engineering including roadway, trail, and pedestrian type projects.
* Tasks include design of signing and pavement markings, safety assessments, development of maintenance of traffic and preparation of construction related documents.
* Analysis of intersection and road section in accordance with VDOT standards.
* Ability to manage traffic impact study.
* Other responsibilities may include report preparation, field reconnaissance and inspection, project rendering.
Required Education & Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (with emphasis in Transportation)
* 5 to 7 years-experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities
* Strong communication and organizational skills.
* Proficiency using MicroStation and/or AutoCAD preferred.
* Proficiency in MS Office software.
* Knowledge of TOPSAM requirements, Chapter 527, VDOT LAP and Smart Scale process and requirements.
* Desire to work in a team environment.
* PE license or ability to obtain one.
* Planning, organization and scheduling skills.
* A self starter.
