Role responsibilities
The Senior Project Manager will lead the delivery of the Hydrogen Bus Depot – Pathfinder initiative, and the development of future depots across the region. Driving innovation, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement throughout the programme lifecycle and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.
* Provide strategic oversight of project progress against key milestones and delivery dates by rigorously monitoring project trackers, proactively identifying and mitigating risks, coordinating cross-functional teams, and delivering timely updates to internal and external stakeholders to ensure all projects are delivered on schedule and fully meet their defined obligations.
* Provide robust leadership in risk management by proactively identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial, reputational, quality, environmental, and health and safety risks, escalating issues as appropriate to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and to the highest standards.
* Provide comprehensive oversight of expenditure and Anticipated Final Costs (AFC) against the NEC contract by closely monitoring spend profiles, implementing change control in accordance with GAPP, and managing compensation events to ensure projects are delivered within budget and achieve optimal value for money.
* Lead the procurement of goods and services by fostering supplier and delivery partnerships within the Welsh economy, actively engaging with SMEs and other local supply chain partners to maximise regional economic benefits.
Who we’re looking for
* Relevant degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction or equivalent experience.
* Hold a project management qualification APM or PRINCE2
* Hold or working towards Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) or equivalent project management accreditation to demonstrate the necessary technical knowledge, professional practice, and competence for the role.
* Experience of NEC Suite of contracts of the entire project lifecycles, demonstrating an understanding of collaborative project management, proactive risk mitigation, and the ability to deliver projects efficiently.
Welsh Language Skills
The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
