We’re currently seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join the team at a purpose-built SEMH school in Harlow. Opened in 2023 and now part of a well-established and highly respected Trust, the school supports up to 64 pupils, including residential provision for 15. It is committed to stand-out education, relentless pastoral care, and creating a climate of high expectation and possibility.
About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with teachers and support staff to:
* Re-engage pupils with learning through personalised support
* Develop students' social, emotional, and behavioural skills
* Deliver academic and enrichment activities that build confidence and independence
* Support students 1:1 or in small groups
* Implement consistent and effective behaviour management strategies
* Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment
We’re Looking for Someone Who:
* Has experience supporting children or young people with SEMH and/or SEND
* Is calm, empathetic, and confident in managing behaviour
* Can build strong, respectful relationships with pupils
* Is passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable learners
* Works well in a team environment and takes guidance from teaching staff
