Role

Summary:

Be responsible for coordinating production engineering processes from the final design phase to full production release. Liaise with the company's Engineering and Project Teams, Production and Supply Chain ensuring the successful transition for new and existing product designs, thus ensuring that projects are achieved on time, to quality and budget.

Key responsibilities within your new role would be to:



10. Manage the standards, methods and procedures for the design, modification, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment (jigs / fixtures / tooling) and processes.

11. Develop and deliver production plans, build documentation and route cards for a variety of engineering projects from final design and into series production.

12. Contribute to the development of the Operations Department strategy.

13. Co-ordinate cross-functional departmental activities to resolve manufacturing issues during day to day operation's activity.

14. Develop best practices to improve production capacity, quality and reliability.

15. Support and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

16. Support new product introductions and design for manufacture activities.

17. Responsible for production engineering tasks associated with ToT (Transfer of Technology) projects.

18. Undertake customer and supplier visits by car, when necessary.

19. Develop operating instructions and equipment specifications for production activities.

20. Carry out other tasks and activities as required by management.



Experience and skills required for this position:



21. Degree educated in an Engineering related discipline, or a recognised engineering apprenticeship within an electro-optical manufacturing environment, desirable.

22. Demonstrate a good level of understanding and application of process engineering principles, concepts, practices and standards.

23. The ability to react swiftly to changes in production demands and implement effective and timely solutions.

24. Have excellent time management abilities.

25. Have the ability to work alone or part of a team.

26. Be an effective communicator.

27. Be comfortable with working in the defence and security sectors.

28. Have the ability meet deadlines and produce quality deliverables.

29. Have the ability to read engineering drawings and understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T)

30. Have a 'Can do' attitude.

31. Be motivational.

32. Be accountable.

33. Have integrity.

34. Be team focused.

35. Be customer / quality focused.

36. Be outcome / solution focused.

37. Be flexible to meet the needs of the business.

38. Hold a full current driving licence and a valid passport is required.

39. Due to the nature of this business all candidate will be required to undergo security clearance at SC level.
