The Opportunity
We are looking for a bright and enthusiastic Science Graduate to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Barnet as a Teaching Assistant. You’ll work closely with students aged 11–16, supporting them in science lessons. This is a fantastic first step for graduates in a supportive and welcoming secondary school.
Your Role Will Involve
* Assisting teachers in delivering engaging science lessons
* Supporting students 1:1 or in small groups with classwork, homework, and revision
* Helping to manage behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment
* Offering targeted support to students who may need extra help grasping key scientific concepts
* Contributing to wider school life, including extracurricular activities and enrichment
What We’re Looking For
* A degree in a science subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or related field)
* A genuine interest in working with young people and in education
* Some experience with secondary-aged pupils – e.g., through tutoring, mentoring, summer schools, or previous TA work is ideal but not essential
* A confident communicator with good organisational skills
* A proactive, positive, and reliable approach
