Data Engineer
Up to £80,000 + 30% guaranteed bonus
London (4 days per week in office)
A leading private investment firm is looking to hire a Data Engineer to join a high-performing Research & Technology team that directly supports deal teams across EMEA.
This team operates at the intersection of investment strategy and data, combining market research with modern data infrastructure to generate insights that drive underwriting, portfolio strategy and capital allocation. You’ll play a key role in building the data platform that underpins these decisions.
The Role:
* Build and maintain scalable ETL pipelines across internal and external data sources
* Work with APIs and scripting to ingest and structure complex datasets
* Design and optimise data infrastructure for scalability and efficiency
* Support cloud-based data migration projects using AWS
* Develop data models and power BI/analytics tools to deliver business insights
* Implement data quality checks and governance processes
* Partner closely with investment, asset management and finance teams
What they’re looking for:
* 4–6 years’ experience in Data Engineering or a similar role
* Strong Python and SQL skills
* Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS and data warehousing tools like Snowflake
* Exposure to BI tools (e.g. Tableau)
* Strong analytical mindset with the ability to break down complex problems
* High attention to detail and a proactive, self-starting approach
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
