Wirral Council is seeking a SEND Assisted Travel Support Officer for a 6‑month fixed‑term contract.
About the Role
Supports the administration and operations of a busy Special Needs transport team, looking after vulnerable children and adults travelling to and from home to schools/colleges and day centres. The post holder will arrange sickness/absence cover for approximately 300 part‑time passenger assistants, process invoices and parental expenses, and manage email inboxes and queries/phone calls both internal and external. This demanding role is part of a small office‑based team.

About the Candidate
The successful candidate will be dynamic, well organised, and capable of working with the public while maintaining composure under pressure. Candidates should have suitable office experience, including telephone work, be computer literate and familiar with Microsoft applications (Excel, Outlook, Word and Teams). Ability to process invoices and payments is required.
Requirements
This post is subject to a standard DBS check. Eligibility to work in the UK must be verified; applicants must have the right to work in the UK or meet the Home Office criteria for visa sponsorship. The role does not meet the requirements of a skilled worker visa.
