Join Samsung as a Security Engineer at our R&D Institute in Staines-upon-Thames!
This role is pivotal in ensuring the security and compliance of Android applications for Samsung Galaxy devices, particularly for government and enterprise customers. You'll play a key role in developing and deploying secure mobile solutions, leveraging Samsung Knox platform and infrastructure.
What You’ll Do
* Conduct comprehensive security assessments and generate evidence reports for Samsung Galaxy applications to meet government agency requirements.
* Collaborate with partners and customers to build robust solutions using the Samsung Knox platform and infrastructure.
* Develop tools for solution installation, provisioning, and approval, ensuring seamless deployment.
* Create detailed documentation, including solution design and deployment guides, to support approval processes.
* Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including business and R&D teams, to align security solutions with strategic goals.
* Travel as needed for meetings with customers and partners to foster collaboration and innovation.
* Provide timely progress reports to management, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Who We’re Looking For
Essential Qualifications:
* A degree in Computing, Communications, or a related field (industrial experience may substitute).
* Experience in developing Java Cryptography Extension (JCE) provider for Android KeyStore.
* Familiarity with PKI, certificate enrolment, and Public Key Cryptography Standards (PKCS #).
* Proven experience in application testing using tools like OWASP MASVS, MobSF, Frida, and others.
* Extensive knowledge in C, C++, and Java programming languages.
* Excellent documentation skills using MS Word and PowerPoint.
* Self‑motivated with a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
* Strong inter‑personal and communication skills.
* Experience with Global Platform Card Specification 2.3, ISO 7816 smart card standard, NFC, and ETSI 102 705 APIs.
* Hands‑on experience in developing smart card‑based Android applications using Javacard API.
* Expertise in defining security concepts, requirements, and architecture.
* Knowledge of secure mobile platform development and mobile device security features like device lock and data encryption.
* Experience with Common Criteria certification (CC, FIPS, VS‑NfD).
