Overview
Development Lead for Transforming Care Digitally Programme at Saarthy Travel Solutions. This role is offered on a fixed term basis for 18 months. Two Development Leads will drive forward the Transforming Care Digitally (TCD) Programme technical projects, each leading a team of analysts and ensuring systems deliver safe, efficient, and patient‑centred care. Each lead will be responsible for a designated project area—RiO EPR (main mental health EPR) or SystmOne (main community physical health EPR).
What is Transforming Care Digitally?
Transforming Care Digitally (TCD) is a strategic programme launched in 2024. Its goal is to enhance digital capabilities across Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust to improve patient care, enhance clinical delivery through digital solutions, and improve digital maturity. Core objectives include:
* Patient‑Centred Care: ensure digital systems support safe, high‑quality, and accessible care
* Clinical Process Improvement: align system configuration with clinical workflows
* Staff Efficiency & Productivity: reduce duplication and improve usability
* Intelligent service development: enhance data use for operational and strategic decision‑making
What You’ll Do
* Lead clinical system configuration across multiple services
* Align digital changes with clinical processes and patient needs
* Manage a team of Configuration Analysts and deputise for the Senior Lead
* Collaborate with external providers, TCD Programme leads and external suppliers
* Ensure robust testing, governance, and clinical safety sign‑off
* Follow up on post‑project activities to ensure business‑as‑usual handover processes are clearly defined, documented and operating effectively
Responsibilities by area
* Management / Projects: Responsibility for day‑to‑day configuration management of clinical systems; day‑to‑day management of a team of Analysts; plan system configuration projects in line with the overarching Clinical Systems road map; ensure changes align to national guidance and standard definitions; provide robust business‑as‑usual processes for incident management and handover
* Analysis: Interpret and communicate complex information to TCD Senior management and project leads; analyse complex system problems and allocate resources to meet priorities
* Communication / Liaison: Facilitate user group workshops; lead regional and national meetings; articulate complex configuration aspects to managers, service leads and clinicians; negotiate with external organisations and suppliers to deliver high‑quality, clinically safe systems
* Other: Adhere to NHS information governance and data quality guidelines; promote timely data collection to support patient care; report to the Clinical Systems Senior Lead for Transforming Care Digitally Programme
