FCRMS Asset Management Business Systems Team Senior Advisor - 32232

The Environment Agency creates better places for people, wildlife, and the environment. We put the climate emergency at the heart of everything we do and help society adapt to environmental challenges such as flooding, drought, sea level rise and coastal change.

Our asset management business system includes carbon management to meet our corporate objective of becoming a Net Zero Carbon organisation. Carbon management is fully embedded in the delivery of our infrastructure programme and in the management of assets. The carbon management process is supported by existing and developing tools that enable construction projects and suppliers to meet mandatory carbon assessment requirements, ultimately allowing the EA to produce a carbon footprint for all assets that need to be reduced over future years.

The Asset Management Business Systems Team supports all EA teams and suppliers in their use of carbon tools, ensuring they become a core part of the asset management system that operates alongside other AMBST supported tools for the infrastructure programme and asset management.

Key Responsibilities

* Supported EA and external users of operational carbon tools.
* Managed and delivered a range of services to users of carbon tools.
* Agreed and maintained services with a range of user groups.
* Acted as a senior product user for digital improvement projects of our carbon tools and data.
* Planned and managed user activities in the implementation of carbon tool changes and improvements.
* Managed the resources and funding for carbon tools support and maintenance.
* Worked with operational carbon communities and national leads as required.
* Collaborated with IT suppliers and other EA teams, including FCRM, Operations, and Defra’s Digital, Data and Technology Services (DDTS), as well as external bodies such as Local Authorities, Water Companies, IDBs, and the civil engineering supply chain.

Experience and Skills Required

* Experience in asset management and/or infrastructure business processes.
* Experience in digital tool development or user implementation services.
* Experience in development of training and documentation.
* Knowledge and skills in stakeholder engagement and effective communications.
* Ability to identify, analyse, evaluate and implement improved ways of working.
* Ability to take decisions and solve complex business problems.
* A strong focus on efficiency, innovation, and quality.
* Strong focus on customers and partners and ability to build and sustain relationships.
* Ability to manage yourself and work on your own initiative.

Location and Travel

The role is predominantly office-based, but travel will be required occasionally. Any location for your office base is acceptable.

Training and Development

Everyone starting in AMBST is welcomed into the team and given all of the training and support needed to succeed. There are also fully funded opportunities to develop further academic/professional qualifications.
