We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised, and reliable individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced healthcare environment and takes pride in delivering excellent patient service. This varied role will involve supporting both patients and clinicians while helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the practice.
Previous administrative experience and customer service skills are desirable. Experience within a healthcare setting would be beneficial but is not essential as full training will be provided.
The role is a minimum of 12 - 16 hours per week, with set working days on Mondays, a half day on Wednesdays, and a half day on Fridays.
Main duties of the job
The typing of letters, reports, and patient referrals in an accurate and timely manner.
Use of the Choose and Book system; to assist in referral of patients to one or more hospital(s) of their choice which includes sending out relevant documentation to the patient.
Resolving problems which relate to the Choose and Book system. This includes changes to place of referral and dealing with rejected referrals.
To retrieve medical records and assist in the completion of medical/insurance reports.
To deal with emails and online tasks.
Registering patients and registering them for online services.
To receive incoming and initiate outgoing telephone calls to deal with appropriate queries.
To provide cover for members of the administration team during periods of sickness and annual leave.
To receive and dispatch mail

Person Specification
Experience
* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
* Strong background in customer service and administration.
