Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and support to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring they receive the necessary assistance with daily activities while promoting their independence and dignity.
Duties
* Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
* Support clients with meal preparation and nutrition management.
* Assist with medication administration as per prescribed guidelines.
* Engage in behaviour management techniques to support clients with challenging behaviours.
* Facilitate social interaction and companionship to enhance emotional well-being.
* Conduct light housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and clean environment.
* Assist clients with mobility, including heavy lifting when necessary.
* Provide support for clients with specific needs such as Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice care, and senior care.
* Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes in condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
Experience
* Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings is highly desirable.
* Familiarity with patient care practices and caregiving techniques is essential.
* Experience in first aid and emergency response is an advantage.
* A background in childcare may also be beneficial for certain client needs.
* A valid driving licence is preferred for roles that require transportation of clients or travel between locations.
