A leading european food business with multiple accreditations in the organic, healthy eating and fair trade space, is currently seeking 2 buyers to join the UK business.
Working in a small team, the Buyers will be responsible for working closely with cross functional teams to develop category portfolios and support NPD and EPD projects across the category portfolios.
The successful Buyer with have proven procurement and supplier management experience within an FMCG industry (retail or manufacturing), ideally within food or ingredients or wider retail consumer goods. You will have proven experience of working closely with suppliers to source, negotiate and monitor supply agreements. You will be tenacious, driven and have excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and drive projects from concept to launch.
Responsibilities of the Buyer include:
* Developing and implementing purchasing strategies
* Managing a supplier portfolio including monitoring performance, relationship building and compliance requirements
* Contract and price negotiations
* Developing category knowledge to identify trends, new suppliers and competition
* Support marketing and R&D teams with NPD and product renovation projects
* Timely communication with all internal/external stakeholders
* Maintaining pricing sheets, GPC’s, supplier database
Hybrid role - 2/3 days in the office
