Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist – Coastal CAMHS (£45k RRP)

An opportunity to help shape local CAMHS services while delivering high-quality psychiatric care to children and young people across Coastal West Sussex.
Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join the Coastal CAMHS locality team, working across Worthing and Chichester bases.
This role offers the opportunity to play a key leadership role in delivering safe, effective and compassionate mental health care for children and young people 0–18, while contributing to service development and system-wide improvements across CAMHS.
About the role
As a Consultant Psychiatrist within Coastal CAMHS, you will provide specialist psychiatric assessment, treatment and clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary service.
You will work collaboratively with young people, families and partner agencies to develop effective treatment plans and ensure timely access to the right care.
* Undertaking specialist psychiatric assessments and treatment planning
* Providing medical leadership within the multidisciplinary CAMHS team
* Delivering psychiatric interventions including pharmacological treatment and Mental Health Act assessments
* Supporting care planning with families, carers and partner agencies
* Providing consultation and advice to GPs, social care and other referrers
* Contributing to service development, quality improvement and clinical governance
You will work alongside a supportive multidisciplinary team including nurses, psychologists, systemic family therapists and child psychotherapists, as well as other CAMHS Consultants and Specialty Doctors across Sussex.

This role attracts a Recruitment and Retention Package of £45,000, paid over three years. Relocation expenses of up to £8,000 may also be available subject to policy.

About you
You will be a Consultant Psychiatrist in Child and Adolescent Mental Health, with GMC registration and inclusion on the Specialist Register (or within six months).
You will demonstrate:

* Excellent multidisciplinary leadership and communication skills

* Interest in teaching, research and professional development
Approved Clinician status (or ability to achieve within three months) is required.
