About the Role Reporting to Materials Manager you will be accountable for store teams ensuring prompt and accurate flow of materials to Production is a safe and efficient manner. Particular focus should be paid to Health and Safety procedures, inventory control and working to apply lean standards including 5S, whilst maximising the utilization of labour and space. Main Duties & Responsibilities Leading the Stores team by interpreting high level requirements and transferring to daily objectives to ensure materials/kits are supplied to Production accurately providing on time delivery Managing safe working practices and ensuring safety adherence within Materials Managing Stores Team Members to deliver day to day Pick sequences using both Takt and Hijunka boards Managing all aspects of suppling parts to Production including reporting shortages, stock out issues and identifying root cause Managing Stores Team Members to implement continuous improvement initiatives set via 5S audits and actioned using Kaizen newspaper Identify the needs of your team and providing training to new and existing team members Lead/Attend various meetings including start up, control room and accountability meetings Liaising with cross functional team to ensure quality part delivery Management and reporting of excess and obsolete inventory to Materials Manager Management and reporting of weekly KPI process and ensure that process is delivered in an accurate and efficient manner Knowledge of PIT in a safe and efficient manner including Counterbalance, Reach Truck, Pallet Stacker, Tugger Truck etc. Prompt and accurate control of paperwork Ensuring all goods are receipted in a timely fashion in line with KPI Striving to improve BOM & inventory accuracy Managing daily cycle count process, including investigation though to resolution Adherence and auditing of FIFO procedure within Materials Implementation of further JIT processes and projects Striving to improve / maximize inventory capacity Communicating escalated line shortages to Supply Chain Driving PC to ensure PFEP picklists are available for material takt Managing and implementation of PC requests Compliance with internal environmental and waste management procedures Implementation and development Standard Work procedures Complete all time and attendance data and return to work information for HR department. Manage personal performance and development of team members under your supervision General Housekeeping Duties Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills People management/supervisory experience is essential Proven experience within a similar role preferably from within manufacturing industry Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Flexibility and ability to work in an environment that is fluid with constantly changing priorities Knowledge of inventory control, lean manufacturing, takt time and continuous improvement Ability to learn quickly, use your initiative and work as part of a team Strong analytical skills and attention to detail is essential for success in this role A logical and methodical approach to problem solving along with the ability to complete tasks in a timely manner to meet targets Ability to govern progress to a detailed level and interpret system reports to bring about change as necessary Self-motivation and initiative IT literacy and Experience of ERP/MRP systems, particularly Oracle would be preferable. Participation in supervising for success (SFS) and Behavioural Based Safety (BBS) training programs Good understanding of the connection between stock accuracy and excellent customer service. About you Minimum 5 GCSE's grade's A to C including English and Maths or equivalent. Strong Communication Skills both verbal and written. A good standard of IT Skills with demonstrable experience of MS Office especially MS Excel. Previous Admin experience. Desirable: Educated to A level / equivalent. Experience of MRP systems.
