English Teacher – ECTs Welcome
Milk Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Knowsley to recruit an English Teacher to start as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate English graduate, aspiring teacher, or experienced English Teacher who is keen to inspire students, develop literacy skills, and support academic achievement across KS3 and KS4.
This role is open to both recent English graduates looking to gain valuable classroom experience and experienced teachers seeking their next opportunity within secondary education. The Role as an English Teacher:
As an English Teacher, you will work with students across KS3 and KS4, delivering engaging and informative lessons that encourage creativity, critical thinking, and a love for literature and language. You may be supporting students preparing for assessments or GCSE-level English Language and English Literature qualifications.
Key Responsibilities as an English Teacher:
• Deliver engaging English lessons across Language and Literature
• Support students in developing confidence, reading, writing, and analytical skills
• Prepare pupils for assessments, examinations, and GCSE coursework
• Adapt lessons and activities to meet individual learning needs
• Encourage participation and positive behaviour through engaging teaching strategies
• Track student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
• Build positive relationships to motivate and inspire learners
• Promote a passion for reading, communication, and creative expression
The Ideal Candidate as an English Teacher:
• A degree in English, English Literature, English Language, or a related subject
• Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for English
• Experience teaching or working with secondary-aged students is desirable
• Open to both recent graduates and experienced teachers
• Confident, adaptable, and engaging communication style
• Passion for education and supporting young people
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
