You’ll often be working with multidisciplinary teams on complex projects where autonomy and project management will be important.
We’re on the hunt for someone who will champion our values: to care passionately, be fluent in people, believe in your craft, push convention, be open to change, and to value each other.
The role may also involve
* Leading and directing projects – guiding multidisciplinary teams and clients toward inclusive, accessible and effective services.
* Team support and management – inspiring and line‑managing team members, including overseeing appraisals and professional development.
* Defining and refining practice – shaping how our disciplines collaborate and advancing the way we deliver inclusive, accessible, and effective design.
* Supporting new business – identifying opportunities with clients and assisting with proposals and pitches.
Your skills and experience
* Strategy & systems thinking – leading teams to map and analyse strategies, systems and scenarios, and to deliver grounded recommendations.
* Research – partnering with user researchers to uncover and articulate key factors affecting the service and its use.
* User‑centred journeys & experiences – selecting the right approaches to deliver outcomes that are great for the user, feasible to implement, and aligned with the client’s vision.
* Facilitation – leading engaging workshops and helping colleagues present, communicate and inspire stakeholders.
* Organisation design – understanding the role of org‑design in implementing effective services.
* Visual communication – creating clear, compelling visuals, including drawing, sketching or graphic communication.
* Written communication – guiding teams on appropriate written formats and structures, and overseeing concise writing.Recommendation & implementation – working with stakeholders to identify change possibilities, outline timeframes, resources and future phases.
* Prototyping – scoping and leading targeted prototyping exercises across disciplines, online and offline.
* Stakeholder management – negotiating and guiding clients toward positive outcomes within budget.
* Managing complexity and ambiguity – navigating uncertain service transformation projects and supporting team members.
* Proactive and autonomous – leading conversations and seeking ways to add value.
* GDS (government digital service) principles – applying these principles in service design and engaging in service assessments.
