Specialist Dietitian Hepato-Pancreatico-Biliary Surg & Nutrition Supp
A full time opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated Band 6 dietitian to join our Hepato-pancreatico-biliary (HPB) and Nutrition Support Teams (NST). You would join a proactive team of 52 dietitians and dietetic assistants at The Royal Surrey Hospital for a fixed term period of 12 months.
We are looking for somebody with excellent communication and organisational skills. You will be working alongside our multi-disciplinary teams consisting of dietitians, surgeons, pharmacists, gastroenterologists, specialist nurses, and biochemists. You will also be involved in delivering education sessions to healthcare professionals.

Main duties of the job
To provide a Nutrition & Dietetic service to patients attending the Hepato-pancreatico-biliary Specialty (HPB) and Nutrition Support Team (NST) on Parenteral Nutrition (PN) under the direction of the dietetic team leads for each service.
You will join a forward thinking dietetic team which undertakes the training of dietetic students, and also focuses on research and audit in its areas of activity to promote clinical effectiveness in patient care. You will be encouraged to develop both personally and professionally, with the chance to shadow and learn from specialist dietitians.

Job responsibilities
The post holder will be an integral part of the NST and HPB dietetic teams to provide a nutrition and dietetic service for inpatients receiving Parenteral Nutrition across the hospital (including in Intensive Care (ICU)), and inpatient and outpatient nutritional care for patients with hepato-pancreatico-biliary disease The post holder will support the Dietitians, including attending inpatient ward rounds, and associated meetings (including regular MDT meetings). The post holder will act as a resource in HPB Surgery and Parenteral Nutrition for other Health Professionals in the Royal Surrey and surrounding Healthcare Units. To assist in the development of evidence based resources, policies and guidelines
Person Specification
Qualifications
* BSc in Dietetics or equivalent and registration with HCPC
* Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development
* Evidence of post-graduate learning and CPD
* Member of the British Dietetics Association
* Membership of specialist groups, e.g. PENG / GSG / NIGPS
* Car driver with clean current driving licence
Knowledge
* Post qualification experience including nutrition support and enteral feeding
* Evidence of experience in specialities including general surgery and parenteral nutrition
* Evidence of MDT work
* Evidence of ability to manage complex clinical presentations
* Evidence of experience in relevant specialities including intensive care, diabetes and oncology
* Experience of training/supporting others (including students) within specialist clinical area
