Job Title: Resident Civil Site Engineer - National Grid Substation
Location: Cilfynydd 400kV Substation, Wales

Hours: 07:30 - 17:30 (45 Hours Per Week)
Rate: 400 Per Day
Contract Type: Temporary
IR35 Status: Inside IR35 - Limited Company Not Permitted
We are currently seeking multiple experienced Resident Engineers / Civil Site Engineers for a major National Grid 400kV substation project in Cilfynydd.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a long‑term National Grid infrastructure project working within a live transmission environment.
Candidates must have previous National Grid substation experience and hold current NG Persons authorisation.
Key Responsibilities
* Setting out line and level using various surveying equipment
* Assisting with constructability reviews alongside the civil site team
* Raising Technical Queries (TQs)
* Acting as Document Controller for all civil drawings
* Assisting the site team with obtaining quotes and raising orders
* Completing and managing As Built drawings
* Supporting day-to-day site engineering activities on a live National Grid project
Essential Requirements
* Previous experience working on National Grid substation projects
* Current NG Persons authorisation
* Manual Handling certification
* Strong setting out experience using surveying equipment
* Knowledge of National Grid Technical Specifications (NGTS)
* Ability to manage civil drawing control and technical documentation
* Strong communication and organisational skills
