Overview
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Obstetric Sonographer/Midwife Sonographer to join our dedicated imaging team. The department is small and busy, delivering a high‑quality, patient‑focused obstetric service across two sites in Dumfries & Stranraer. We focus on forward‑looking development, ergonomic practice, and realistic scanning lists to promote job satisfaction.
Responsibilities
As an Obstetric Sonographer/Midwife Sonographer, you will perform obstetric ultrasound scans, report findings to the clinical team, and contribute to continuous improvement of sonographic practice. You will work collaboratively with the imaging team, maintain accurate patient records, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
Qualifications
* A Post Graduate Certificate in Obstetric Ultrasound.
* Evidence of Continuing Professional Development in the field.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
* Motivated and ownership mindset to support team and service development.
Working Hours & Salary
From 1 April 2026, the full‑time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours per week, with a corresponding increase in hourly rate to keep pay unaffected. Part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata.
Location
Dumfries – South West Scotland. The area offers excellent local schools, a university campus, and abundant outdoor activities such as golfing, walking, cycling, and mountain biking.
