Slitting Machine Operator, Birmingham, up to £14 per hour + Bonus
My client is a manufacturing company supplying high precision metal components to customers across the UK.
Role summary: Setting up and operating metal processing machinery; maintaining quality andsafety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies
Responsibilities / Tasks: - - Plan machining by studying job cards, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances, and setting up accurately. - Load feed mechanism by lifting material into position. - Maintain specifications by observing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes. - Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations. - Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs. - Document actions by completing job cards. - Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications. - Accomplish company goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. - Maintain a clean and tidy work area. - When the situation arises, work in other areas as directed. - Comply with the company's Health & Safety and HR policies and procedures. - Safeguard the values under your control and observe the security of the Company's premises, property, and confidential information.
Candidate Requirements: - - The ability to operate metal slitting machinery. - GCSE level or equivalent, good maths is essential. - Good level of fitness. - Teamwork skills. - Problem solving skills. - Attention to detail. - Mechanical and technical skills. - An understanding of health and safety regulations. - Honesty and reliability. - A willingness to work on a flexible basis.
