Our client is an established practice operating across architecture, urban design and planning. Their collaborative, design-focused approach supports sustainable development for both public and private sector clients.
The Role
The appointed Senior Planner will take on a key position within a growing planning team, supporting projects from initial concept through to completion. The role involves managing an independent caseload while also contributing to larger, multi-disciplinary schemes in partnership with architects and urban designers.
The position offers regular interaction with clients, local authorities and consultants, alongside opportunities to develop leadership and commercial skills within a supportive, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparing, submitting and managing planning applications, appeals and associated consents
* Conducting planning research, policy reviews and providing clear, professional advice
* Drafting planning statements, appraisals, appeal documentation and community engagement materials
* Coordinating multi-disciplinary project teams and liaising with local authorities and statutory bodies
* Supporting public consultation and stakeholder engagement activities
* Assisting with client relationship management, business development and marketing initiatives
* Contributing to team development and sharing knowledge with colleagues
Essential Skills and Experience
* Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant planning discipline
* MRTPI qualification (or eligibility for full membership)
* Minimum of five years’ professional experience in town planning
* Excellent analytical and report-writing abilities with strong attention to detail
* Experience working on significant and / or complex development projects
* A proactive, adaptable and collaborative approach
* Strong organisational and time-management skills
