Job Purpose and Background
CDP is seeking a highly motivated individual with keen interest in environmental reporting and transparency to support CDP’s engagement work.
This is an exciting opportunity to engage with large companies around the disclosure requirements of their strategies to mitigate climate change, improve water security and tackle deforestation.
We seek staff motivated to work with people, nurture relationships, contribute to major income streams such as admin fee and sponsorships, and generate leads for our membership programs, as well as interested in efficient processes and the application of our questionnaires and scoring methodologies to corporate sustainability success.
Key responsibilities include:
* Serving as focal point for a broad set of companies in the UK and MEA region; facilitating their disclosure through CDP by responding to inquiries about the disclosure process, framework, etc.
* Reaching out to entities not yet reporting through CDP’s questionnaires in order to convince them of the value of disclosure
* Growing revenue particularly from administrative fees and sponsorships
* Generating leads for CDP’s membership programs (such as the Reporter Services and Supply Chain programs) as well as action initiatives supported by CDP (such as the Science Based Targets initiative)
* Creating and coordinating key engagement material and training resources
* Ensuring a high level of data quality for organization and contact data in CDP’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system
* On occasion, representing CDP on external events (CDP-hosted webinars, partner conferences, etc) as well as representing the Disclosure department in internal working groups
* Organisation of workshops and/or webinars directed at external audiences
* Assisting with ad-hoc tasks as required.
Note: The focus of this role is currently on corporate stakeholders, but might be extended to also cover cities, states and regions in the future.
This is a full-time permanent role based at CDP’s London office reporting to Senior Engagement Manager, UK & MEA.
The precise description and nature of your job may be varied from time to time and you may be required to carry out other duties as necessary to meet business needs.
Required skills and experience:
* Degree-level education in a relevant field (Environment/Sustainability), or experience in a similar role, working in NGOs and/or commercial organisations
* Ability to work independently, with strong attention to detail
* Keen interest in corporate sustainability and related company challenges
* Ability to work with global colleagues, and develop strong internal and external stakeholder relationships
* Familiarity and experience working with Customer Relationship Management systems and Excel
* Experience of working in a global organisation (Desirable)
* Additional language skills (Desirable)
Salary and benefits: £25,967 per annum, 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, generous non-contributory pension provision, annual discretionary bonus (depending on company performance), Employee Assistance Programme, life assurance, Training and development, Flexible working opportunities and other benefits.
