The Role

Supervise an administrative team of secretaries and administrative clerks and to provide a comprehensive administrative support to a team of clinicians, enabling clinicians to operate effectively and efficiently. Ensure the work of the administrative team is carried out in accordance with NHS Lanarkshire’s standard operating procedures. What we'll need you to bring

1. SVQ level 3 qualification (or equivalent experience) plus at least 2 years experience as a medical secretary
2. Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of medical terminology
3. Evidence of effective team working and dealing with change
4. Evidence of good communication skills with patients, clinicians and colleagues.
5. Advanced audio typing skills
6. Evidence of strong competence with relevant IT systems
7. Excellent organisational skills
8. Proven ability to work under pressure

It would be great if you also have

9. Possess or be working towards ECDL or equivalent
10. Demonstrable secretarial experience in an equivalent position
11. Supervisory / mentorship experience in an equivalent position
12. Knowledge & understanding of Mental Health Act
13. Proficient IT skills which include a full working knowledge of Microsoft office packages
14. Ability to prioritise workload and work on own initiative
15. Excellent oral and written communication skills
16. Excellent time management skills
17. Ability to work under pressure
18. Accurate keyboard skills

Location and Working Pattern

This role will be based in Community Mental Health Team within Hunter Health Centre.

The working pattern for this role -

22. Monday to Friday 9am-5pm
