Overview
A leading international consultancy is seeking Project Controls Engineers to join its expanding infrastructure team in London. The role offers the opportunity to support the delivery of complex, large-scale projects across sectors including rail, utilities, energy, and wider infrastructure.
This position provides exposure to major programmes and a structured project controls environment where planning, cost management, and performance reporting are central to successful project delivery.
Role Responsibilities
As a Project Controls Engineer, you will support the implementation and management of integrated project controls across schedule, cost, and risk functions. You will work closely with multidisciplinary project teams to ensure accurate data, effective reporting, and strong programme governance.
Key responsibilities include:
* Assisting with the development and maintenance of project schedules
* Supporting project progress tracking, schedule updates, and reporting cycles
* Contributing to cost monitoring and forecasting activities
* Supporting risk management processes, including maintaining risk registers
* Producing structured reports and performance updates for project stakeholders
* Working collaboratively with planners, project managers, and commercial teams
* Supporting the management and analysis of project performance data
Candidate Profile
This role is suited to individuals with experience or early career exposure to project controls who are looking to develop their expertise within a consultancy environment supporting major infrastructure programmes.
Relevant experience may include:
* Project planning or scheduling using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
* Project controls, cost management, or project reporting roles
* Infrastructure, engineering, or construction project environments
* Working with project data, dashboards, or reporting tools
Key Attributes
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* A structured and detail-oriented approach to work
* Proactive attitude with a willingness to take ownership of responsibilities
* Interest in developing a long-term career within project controls
Desirable Experience
* Exposure to Earned Value Management (EVM) principles
* Understanding of NEC contract frameworks
* Experience working in a consultancy or client-side project environment
* Familiarity with reporting tools such as Power BI
