Overview
This service supports individuals with learning disabilities, helping them build independence, develop skills, and engage in daily activities with emotional support in their own home. Using a "do with, not do for" approach, the team encourages active participation, enriching lives through activities like walks, dancing, and community outings. As part of the team, you'll play a key role in empowering these individuals to live fulfilling, independent lives, while being valued as a Pobl Difference Maker in a positive, considerate, and connected culture.
Responsibilities
* Administer medication and support personal care
* Assist with cooking, household, and cleaning tasks
* Support budgeting and daily life skills
* Encourage participation in hobbies, activities, and community groups
* Provide companionship and emotional support
* Complete paperwork accurately and on time
* Work collaboratively with the team, bringing fresh ideas
* Support individual needs and promote independence
* Undertake sleep-in shifts as scheduled
* Drive individuals on outings (full UK manual licence required)
* Adapt work to meet the needs of the people supported
Requirements / What we\'re looking for
* A full UK manual driving licence is required
* A background of working with people with physical or mental health needs is desirable, but not necessary; full training and support from senior staff and management are provided
* More important qualities include:
*
o a passion to work with and enable people to live as independently a life as possible
o an enthusiasm and passion for making a difference to people\'s lives
o a strong initiative and ability to work alone as well as being a great team player
* Welsh speakers are encouraged to apply
Hours, pay and benefits
* 24 hour per week opportunity with a rotating schedule that includes days, evenings, weekends, and sleep-in shifts
* Day shifts: 7am – 11pm; Sleep-ins: additional to daytime hours
* Hourly rate of £12.75 (£24,513 FTE); Sleep-in rate £62.64
