We�re looking for an exceptional Senior Communications Executive to help us make a difference to our planet.
As our Senior Communications Executive, the job may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in the office and part of the week from home. This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and the location advertised will be your contractual place of work.
Our opportunity is full time, 37 hours per week, but we would also consider applicants wishing to work a minimum of 4 days per week. Our people are at the heart of what we do and we'll do our best to agree a working pattern that works for everyone.

Job description
Your world of expertise
You will take on the role of Senior Communications Executive within the Media and Campaigns Team. The team is led by the Head of Media and Campaigns and you will report to a Strategic Communications Manager. You will play a key role in leading and developing effective communications campaigns, including targeted campaigns for specialist sectors and programmes. You will help to enhance the Met Office�s external reputation and contribute to increased revenue, customer recruitment and retention.
Your key duties
6. Plan effective and integrated communications campaigns and annual sector plans, to increase Met Office revenue, reach and engagement, and promote and protect organisational reputation.
7. Deliver innovative and targeted communications activities across multiple formats and channels within communications plans, to maximise profile of Met Office brand, products and services, supporting corporate campaigns as required. Provide evaluation and measurement of communications activities.
8. Act as a communications consultant for specialist programmes to achieve maximum impact and profile of the Met Office brand, to increase revenue and customer recruitment and retention.
9. Be an active part of the social desk roster performing daily operational duties as required, to deliver day-to-day weather/service information to the public, media or a specialist sector audience, while continually evolving our offer and considering the news agenda.
Person specification
Essential Criteria, skills and experience:
10. Live and breathe it�- Experience of working in a marketing and communications environment and ideally a business or marketing-related degree or other suitable qualification ( CIM, CIPR).
11. Experts by nature�- Demonstrable experience in developing targeted communications plans which support corporate goals.
12. Experts by nature�- Demonstrable experience of communications project or campaign management and delivery, meeting challenging targets.
13. Experts by nature�- Confidence and ability to convince others of a course of action, even when it is not the obvious one.
14. Live and breathe it�- Strong teamwork skills and flexibility in approach to work with the ability to prioritise and juggle multiple projects without losing focus, leading external and internal resources to meet challenging deadlines.
15. Experts by nature�- An ability to write creatively and convincingly and experience of latest communications techniques including online and social media.

As our Senior Communications Executive, your total reward package will be up to �46,974 annually, which includes:
16. �33,794 base pay.
17. An outstanding Civil Service pension, with an average employer contribution of 27%.
18. Whilst this is a temporary position until June 2025, there is potential for it to develop into a permanent position.
19. Annual Leave starting at days (plus Bank Holidays) rising to days (plus Bank Holidays) after 5 years and option to buy or sell up to 5 days per year of annual leave.
