We are looking for a dedicated and hands-on Assistant Manager to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with experience in dry cleaning and laundry services.
Key Responsibilities
* Day-to-day operations: Support the Store Manager in overseeing all aspects of the shop, including customer service, garment processing, and workflow management.
* Dry cleaning & laundry knowledge: Operate dry cleaning machines and laundry equipment, carry out basic spotting and finishing, and ensure garments are cleaned to a high standard.
* Staff supervision: Assist in training, supervising, and motivating staff to deliver excellent service.
* Customer service: Handle customer queries, advise on garment care, and resolve complaints effectively and professionally.
* Quality control: Check finished garments for quality, consistency, and presentation before collection/delivery.
* Health & safety compliance: Ensure all staff follow correct health, safety, and environmental procedures, including safe handling of chemicals.
* Stock & supplies: Monitor stock levels of cleaning products, packaging, and other supplies.
* Cover management: Step in to manage the shop in the absence of the Store Manager.
Skills & Experience Required
* Previous experience in a dry cleaning and/or laundry environment (essential).
* Good understanding of garment care, stain removal basics, and use of dry cleaning machinery.
* Strong customer service and communication skills.
* Ability to supervise and motivate a small team.
* Organised, reliable, and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* Basic IT skills (for POS systems, bookings, and emails).
* Flexible and willing to work weekends if required.
