Senior Legal Counsel
Location: Essex
Our client is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to provide strategic and operational legal support across the UK & Ireland, with a focus on commercial contracts, governance, and risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver practical legal advice to senior management and business stakeholders.
* Manage legal risk and ensure timely legal involvement in key matters.
* Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including NDAs, R&D, licensing, supplier, and tender contracts.
* Oversee relationships with external legal counsel.
* Develop and deliver training on legal and compliance risks.
* Support corporate governance for UK & Ireland entities.
* Collaborate on regional legal projects with wider EMEA teams.
* Deputise for the Director of Governance, Risk, Compliance & Legal as needed.
Requirements:
* Law degree or equivalent (including conversion route).
* 2+ years post-qualification experience.
* Background in healthcare preferred.
* Strong knowledge of commercial contract and corporate law.
* Self-motivated, decisive, and collaborative.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.
* Able to manage a varied and high-volume workload.
* Willingness to travel within the UK & Ireland.
