What we are looking for:
We are expanding and have an amazing TERM TIME ONLY opportunity for an experience Cook Supervisor to join our award-winning team at a new site in Wembley.
As a Cook Supervisor you will lead in the delivery of a professional, customer led and responsive catering service within a secondary school. As Cook Supervisor you will be involved lead a small team in a range of duties associated with delivery high volume lunch time service (including food ordering, preparation, service, food storage, administration and associated domestic duties), contributing to a well-run, large-scale catering operation. You will draw upon your knowledge and experience to ensure all duties are carried out in compliance with current service and operational related standards, regulations and legislation.

Duties:
* Delivering high-quality food services by planning, preparing, presenting, and serving food according to approved menus and recipes.
* Catering to various meal occasions, including breakfasts, sandwiches, snacks, vending machine items, special functions, buffets & daily lunch services
* Ensuring proper portioning and accountability of food.
* Providing information on menu items, including production methods and allergens.
* Collaborating with team management and school personnel to plan menus for religious and cultural festivals.
* Implementing activities to enhance service popularity among pupils, parents, and the wider school community.
* Completing operational and kitchen administration tasks, such as: cash handling, staff management, performance monitoring, compliance with regulations.
* Adhering to safety protocols.
* Properly handling and storing stock.
* Conducting regular checks to meet service-related regulations.
* Maintaining cleanliness standards in designated areas and equipment.
* Engaging in continuous self-development through training and development activities.
* Supervising kitchen staff, including fostering teamwork, conducting appraisals & supporting staff development.
* Ensuring smooth operations in the absence of regular staff.
* Creating an environment conducive to innovation and staff growth for optimal performance.
Qualifications & Experience:
* A qualification (such as City & Guilds or NVQ) in Hospitality & Catering /Food Safety/Food Preparation & Service, highly desirable.
* Develop and maintain co-operative, positive, effective, supportive working relationships within catering services and with service users. Understand, value, contribute to and actively promote the benefits of teamwork.
* Promote excellent customer care and promote the ‘Customer First’ proposition across the service.
* Confidently provide services that are fair and accessible to all.
* Challenge existing practices to better.
* Promote the development of a high-quality customer led service.
* Comply always with relevant policies, procedures and legislation applicable to the role (such as school policies, BD Group policies, as well as those regarding Data Protection, Equality and Diversity, Health and Safety, Data Protection etc).
* Understand provisions within Safer Food for Business standards and other relevant service-related regulations and standards.
Working Arrangements:
* Part-time, Permanent (30- 35 hours per week) Monday to Friday.
* Term time only.
* Location: Wembley.
